Took a page out of @Jeff Miotke 's aquascaping book and set up the netlea prefilter yesterday. This is a secondary filter on top of the Oase Biomaster 2 Thermo 600 seen on the right. I am using an Innovative Marine MightyJet 826 GPH DC pump to power this. Flow is acceptable, not too much to cause my fish to fight against the current. I am running it at 1.6 speed. Can see a lot of improvement to the flow and filtration already. The gunk you seen on the prefilter is just after one day of use.
I did not think the plumbing through and have it hooked up haphazardly. The guy I bought the DC pump forgot to include the 5/8th barbed hose attachment. Using 3/4th barbed hose with some extra plumbing until I get a replacement from the folks at Innovative marine. Plan would be replace the expensive ADA hose that I butchered during this build with some braided vinyl hose, especially at the Biomaster outlet.
