Weekend update: Decided to go back to the Oase Filtosmart 100 Thermo with some new stainless steel lily pipes and the inline diffuser.
Great looking tank, Jay. Not a lot of nano tanks discussed here. They are definitely challenging.

I noticed you switched back and forth between the canister and internal filter. What are your thoughts on the two at this time?

I’m considering starting a UNS 60L high tech build soon and gathering info.

I love the nano tanks and plan to set up a few more, including a no-tech 5g fish bowl along the lines of what @Naturescapes_Rocco and @Kwyet have shown off. This 7g tank was a challenge early on due to my own impatience. it just needed time to mature and has been easy to maintain since. As you see, I've tried a few configurations, but what it always comes back to, is that I just don't want to see equipment in the tank and when they are this small, it's an even bigger issue. The Oase Filtosmart 100 Thermo has worked great on this tank and runs just as quite as other nano canisters I've tried. The spin pipe helps keep the flow controlled which I would otherwise need to turn down a little with the inline shutoff valves.
