Kabob skewer is probably too skinny. Chop stick fits nice and tight in the end of the airline tube.

If it fits snuggly in the airline tubing then go for it. I found the pointy end pumps out more bubbles (I sharpened my chopstick with a pencil sharpener)

Since i was yanking out excess java fern trident and trident mini yesterday, I thought I would post a side by side. I wish I had seen a side by side before I got them, I really like the mini (from @Burr740 ).

Finally got to do my first water change in 3 months yesterday. Still stunned at how well it did for 3 months on autopilot, and this further convinces me that plants really like stability. Still plenty of cleanup to do on plant grooming (I'm looking at you, Bacopa colorata!), but loved how one water change sniffed it right up.

Thanks! The red crypt is Cryptocoryne 'Tropica' I believe. It's finally decide it likes my tank, and seems to be taking off
