On today's water change i noticed yellowing veins on an anubia. Odd, but I haven't been as consistent with dosing since i dont have the auto doser set up. I think especially i might be under dosing Joe's micros. I am taking it as yet another reminder to get my friggin auto doser set up!

This is the 50C shrimp tank, it is taking a bit to settle out, staghorn still clinging for dear life on the driftwood and a few plants. I'm treating it with spot peroxide before water changes as well as a firm scowl.

Tanks are settling in pretty well, plant wise. Dosing pumps finally set up.

One of my Cory cats has damaged barbels, I'm hoping he recovers, but he's not really feeding. I mixed up some repashy and hope he finds it.

Life has been getting in the way. Today I realized 3 weeks has passed since my last water change. Oops

A little diatoms on the front glass, an increase in snails, but otherwise seemed ok. Photo is before the water change.

Ive also added twinwall lids that I plan to use when when basement humidity is high in the summer. My basement doesn't need any help having high humidity, it already has all it needs!

Did a water change, fished out some excess snails, wiped the glass, and returned to life.

That’s looking great and fairly stable for that small amount of buildup in 3 weeks. Def a win for the slow and low build!

A Buce that I forgot about buried in the back of the tank demanded to be noticed by sending up a flower! Hello Buce! Staring at the buce is distracting me from the thread algae that is mounting an attack. Sigh....

I envy you people keeping shrimp lol I’d like to get some amano as they won’t be picked off by my bows or gudgeons cuz they can’t fit in their mouths lol. My only fear is the plant nibbling.

Trying an experiment. Set a webcam in front of the tanks, every day it emails me a photo. My hope is over time ill be able to have a time lapse sequence showing plant growth. Attaching todays pic

3 months, and Zero maintenance. Before and after pics. No water changes. No filter cleaning. No glass cleaning. I haven't cleaned the glass before taking the 'after' pics

50c:



Automated: lights, fish food, co2, macro and micro ferts, and refill h20. Trimmed the heck out of everything and let it rip for 3 months.

Surprised at how well the tank did. Slight haze of algea on the glass. Lots of plant growth, but nothing totally choked from lack of light. Looks like all the fish survived. Pest snails definitely multiplied.

90p: TDS was 264 3 months ago, 494 now
50c: TDS was 292, now 492.

Anyone know what type of thread algea doesn’t bubble with peroxide?

Notice the giant thread algea blob in the 50c tank. With filters off, used a pipette to squirt peroxide into it, and no bubbling from the peroxide. Weird. Squirted a little on some driftwood in the tank and it bubbled as expected, so i think the peroxide is still active. Not sure why it didn't bubble.
