C02 help.

Happy Friday, friends!
This is my first ever tank. It’s just an imagitarium 13.3 shallow tank. It has a fluval hob filter and currently a chihiros vivid2. I also have a skimmer on it. Originally it just had a betta in it and lots of low effor plants. It’s been one of my favorite tanks and it has changed soooo much since I first got it in January. I’m working on transitioning it to a more high tech setup and having an issue with c02 circulation. I read that putting it under the filter can help, I also positioned my skimmer so that the outflow could push around the bubbles but none of that is happening. I was hoping to avoid switching the filter on it if possible.

How long have you been running Co2? Plants look pretty good from the pictures IMO. I wouldn’t change anything at the moment.

2 days…. The red plants I just planted 3/4 days ago so they aren’t established yet. Everything else has been in there for a looooong time with just a hygger light and no c02

Try raising the water level so the HOB water flow is along the surface of the water and not down into the tank. Then place the diffuser opposite to the flow coming from the HOB. Also you might want to turn your CO2 on 3-4 hours before lights come on to make sure that your CO2 levels have stablized.

There are also 3D printed attachments for HOB filters on Etsy that I’ve seen to promote horizontal water flow rather than straight down like @Scaper26 mentioned.

I did a search and could only find them for skimmers. I'm not searching for the right thing. What do you suggest under? I have an Oase Biostyle

OK. I thought there might be different designs for different filters, but there isn't quite that variety.

@BenB It’s possible there is, just keep searching or even type in your filter name and “baffle” or something like that. I’m sure someone has done something similar.

Yeah, I tried after I saw your link and just came up with more of the same.
I did find some that were generic and supposedly would fit on any filter, but I'm a bit skeptical of that and don't want to buy it just to be frustrated with a half solution. My tank is fine, but you know how it is, always tinkering and trying to better.

I have found that most folks on Etsy will tweak their designs to match your exact measurements
