Calcium sulfate hemihydrate CaSO4.1/2H2O

Actually, I think I might be wrong about this. Looking into it more, the Hemihydrate does appear to react faster (not dissolve, react).

The hemihydrate reacts with water to form gypsum crystals.
Forms particles/cloudiness, settles as a powder layer, etc.

Apparently it's not recommended for aquarium use compared to regular gypsum.

Personally I use Gypsum in all of my tanks to reach 25-30ppm Ca, always.
