Fridays are maintenance day for this scape. Thought I'd take a shot before I do a trim and water change. I kind of like the look with the background stems this full and tall. I took this with the 14mm wide angle. Notice how the inflow pipe appears bowed. That's one of the reasons too wide of an angle lens isn't recommended for competition photos. Of course a much better quality lens than the one I'm using may not result in that much barrel distortion.

Absolutely beautiful!
How do you keep those lilly pipes so clean?!

Double taps close to them make them quick and easy to remove for cleaning. When the scape was young and still getting a lot of algae on the glass, I had to clean them every week. Now I only clean them every 2-3 weeks, and even then, they're not really that bad. The inflow tends to need it more than the outflow. By staying on top of it, they never get bad enough to need a heavy scrubbing. They were cleaned last week and might go 2 more before the next cleaning.
