Inkbird Temp Accuracy?

This is my first Inkbird. I have the dual heater model (306A). I set up both the Inkbird, and my Apera pH 60-Z this morning for pre-planting trial run, and was surprised at the 4 degree (F) difference in readings between them. To my mind that difference is not insignificant. The Apera literature boasts a 0.5 degree C accuracy range, but it is reading lower than expected this morning. For those with Inkbirds, I presume as the point is heater regulation, that their temps are pretty accurate? Or is that a false assumption? My kitchen laser thermometer agrees more closely with the Inkbird at 72 degrees, so at the moment I assuming the Apera is way off base. Any thoughts? For those using Inkbird controllers, do you trust the temperature ranges, or use an independent thermometer for calibration?

Between home brewing and aquarium keeping, I've used a lot of Inkbirds over the years and have found them to be quite accurate. I also have several ThermoWorks Thermapens for cooking that I can compare to and they always read near identical to the Inkbirds.

I don't think Inkbirds were around back when we were brewing, but it's been a while! My hunt for CO2 locally did land me at a good local brew supply though! Glad that I can trust the Inkbird. My cooking thermometer was certainly a lot closer to the Inkbird temp!

The first Inkbirds were not the nice packaged models available now but merely simple little black panel mount boxes that we manually wired up to suit our needs, Predominately used early on for building custom electric breweries. In fact the first versions to hit the market only read in Celsius, until software upgrades were made.
