We are ScapeCrunch, the place where planted aquarium hobbyists come to build relationships and support each other. When you're tired of doom scrolling, you've found your home here.
Is it me or these plants look really similar? Have you got pictures if those in an aquascape? I have trouble choosing one or the other. I need a soft fluffy plant.
In close ups they are very different, Guyana has divided leaves like other Myrios while Mayaca Fluviatilis has simple single bladed leaves. Guyana branches more so it is better for trimming into a dense bush, while the Mayaca forms messier longer strands. Guyana is slightler darker green and the Mayaca is lighter green.
I would always recommend Guyana as it is easier to control and shape
