We are ScapeCrunch, the place where planted aquarium hobbyists come to build relationships and support each other. When you're tired of doom scrolling, you've found your home here.
Hello . I’ve recently restarted this hobby after many years. Previously kept a 5ft community tank focussed mainly on fish but with some low tech plants. This time I’m going to plan a more plant focussed aquascape and I’m currently at the hard scape stage. I’ll do a dark start which gives me time to think about plants and fish. I have a rough plan but I’d love some ideas.
Here is the build so far! 90x55x53cm. Aqua One Aquasys 230L. Oase bio master thermal 350. Week Aqua L series lighting. CO2 system coming soon. I’ve designed it as a triangular layout with spider wood and some of our amazing local basalt pebbles. Tropica Aqua soil deep layer at back and sand foreground.
I love the contrast of those pebbles and the sand. I hope you'll have some otocinclus/bushynose plecos to help graze the stones and keep them clean from algae, their blue-grey color deserves to come through!
