Currently I'm facing a seasonal heat wave, the tank is consistently above these temperatures. How do you deal with this? My funds are limited so no chiller or permanent AC in the room.

The situation: Some plants don't care, others are attracting algae, others still show signs of stunted growth or outright wilting. The fish are ok for now except for one rummynose getting a white patch on his gills. This is an established tank of 1.5 years that was doing alright. Last year it was in a different home, less prone to high heat.

It's disheartening and worrying. I'm considering swapping plants for heat resistant ones. I'm particularly I interested in the experience of people living in similar tropical climates.

I'll be getting a fan soon. I DIY it with a portable one but it's not great nor very safe, I'm looking for something meant for aquariums now.

The tap is unfortunately rather hot as well, so no dice.

Ludwigia super red is melting furiously. I guess ludwigia palustris doesn't like the heat at all.
