Is this Dwarf Sag (Sagittaria subulata)?

I purchased it from a reputable online shop (Canadian), but it does not look like most of the photos I see, with these sort of spoon shaped leaves. They are about 4” tall. They’ve been in the tank over a week now and are melting a bit.
If not dwarf sag then what might it be?

Assuming you're talking about the plant in front and you just planted the emersed form, yes. It will quickly adapt to submersed form which is narrow flat leaves without those lobes. It will then spread very quickly.

Edit: I should have read your post more thoroughly. You described the plant in front. Those leaves are emersed form and will melt. I don't remember how long that took on the last and only batch of emersed I bought. Once it transitions. you'll never need to buy anymore.

Thank you. They don’t seem to be melting, at least.
So will all of the old dwarf sag leaves eventually die off to just leafless rootballs and I should just be patient until they grow again? I guess I have been lucky and never had this happen before!

Eventually, runners under the substrate will produce new submersed form leaves that will begin to pop up. I don't remember exactly how long it took me to see the new plants emerge, but I wouldn't worry, dwarf sag is very hardy and will survive through anything. At one time, I thought I had completely removed it from my farm tank and a couple weeks later, new pkants were showing up.
