Sorry no, just humor 🙂 the way you had it plumbed just made it look like that baby elephant to me 🐘👍
You know me, always humorous! Yes it is quite the setup under there. It’s my first plumbed setup and other than aesthetically odd it’s bang up performance wise.

However you’ll find this funny. When you posted that I was trying to figure out the metaphor, so I typed up dumbo and the black feather and I got all these philosophical takes of what Disney was trying to convey. Needless to say I wasn’t connecting the dots to your response and what I posted 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I was trying to figure out the Dumbo thing as well. I thought it might be that the reactor was flying. 😁

If your questioning my upgrade comment, I plan to acquire a Landen 90p and that will also be drilled and sumped.
Someone near me has a new Landen 120p listed on FB Marketplace for $680. I was strongly considering it until my coworker convinced me to take ownership of their rimmed 120 tank.

Ok so the first day I ran the reactor I didn’t purge it like I should have so I let the co2 injection itself push out the remaining gasses. Today I noticed at the end of the day about an hour and a half before my co2 shuts off, my fish were starting to gasp at the surface. Yesterday I noticed that air was purging from the reactor about every 20-30 seconds, so today I reduced my needle valve slightly to get a longer break in co2 buildup. I’ll keep monitoring until the purging slows.

It’s just stupid simple how this thing works and I’m truly befuddled as to why it took this long to realize that co2 diffuses quite easily into water without the need for submerging it and chopping it up. If you haven’t made one or bought the premade setups, what are you waiting for people.

Whelp, it’s a wrap.

I have been having a hard time staying on top of the this tank and the result has been poor growth, algae, and my disinterest in maintaining it. This weekend I plan to give it a good clean and remove all the lingering algae to focus on continuing growth of what’s left. The crypts never really took off which was likely due to my inconsistent dosing and possibly flow issues. My goal was to get a low iron tank by now but it’s not in the financial cards at the moment. My wife is getting me a new stand for Christmas that matches our furniture and I will need to make some accommodations to it so that the sump and plumbing fits. I’m going to use the opportunity to do a rescape but likely use the same hardscape. My biggest failure with this tank was not utilizing the footprint properly vertically, resulting in hidden stems, and flow issues in the rear of the island. My focus this time around will be keeping the hardscape on a more horizontal plane, and let plant growth and fish handle the vertical space.

I will post a picture of its current state soon, but the rescape will be distant future and I’ll start a new journal when I’m ready.

Behold, the heinous mess!

Aside from co2 injection daily via the Yugang reactor , I have not been adding any ferts. No mystery with the thread/hair algae and cyano, but the green dust slowed significantly with a reduction in light. Oddly, the anubias has been relatively unaffected, throwing out new leaves and flowers, and the buce in similar fashion.

So this is the stand the wife wanted and got: https://a.co/d/5gVWWor

I was also told it’s not going to sit and wait for me to get a rimless for it since that’s not happening anytime soon. So that means once I put it together likely within the next month or so, I’ll be resetting up my current tank. Not sure the direction im going to go with it yet, but I’m getting excited for the idea of a redo.
